What is Lights ON?

Rachael Wade, Author of The Resistance Trilogy and Preservation

Founded by Amazon bestselling author Rachael Wade, Lights ON is an advocacy blog dedicated to shining the spotlight on local and global humanitarian and environmental efforts. Inspired by musician Brandi Carlile’s Looking Out Foundation and the Nirvana song, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” it features ongoing fundraisers, petition sign-ups, and up-to-date news on causes in need of support.

The simple lyrics, “With the lights out, it’s less dangerous” speak volumes for how we often view social justice and environmental issues around the globe. Ignorance might seem like bliss, but a harsh reality remains: It harms us, our loved ones, and our planet, now and in the years to come. Unawareness darkens our minds while the world cries out.

Thankfully, where there is a willing heart, there is always hope. All people have the potential to make change happen; they simply need the lights turned on to see that big change is an evolution, put into motion by small, deliberate steps. Lights ON’s mission is to promote awareness for philanthropic efforts worldwide through passionate advocacy by informing, inspiring, and illuminating one mind at a time.

A portion of Rachael’s book sale royalties are donated to a variety of organizations throughout the year. Check out the latest fundraiser to view recent donations and learn more about the cause that Lights ON is currently featuring.
