Help me illuminate Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

Around 85,000 still-nursing baby seal pups are rounded up and slaughtered annually on July 1st in Namibia. Sea Shepherd reports that the slaughter of sharks has risen by 400% in the last 50 years, and by 2017, some scientists anticipate around 20 species of sharks could become extinct. That is staggering and it breaks my heart. Countless other marine animals are brutally murdered every day around the globe and their habitats face devastating destruction at a rapidly escalating rate. What many people do not realize is that we need clean oceans and the animals that inhabit them–and not just for food or water. Ocean life affects everything, including our economy, climate, and our atmosphere. Overfishing, habitat destruction, and blatant cruelty all contribute to the loss of crucial marine life and ecosystems. I believe that animals are sentient creatures: they cry out in pain and mourn their young just as we do. They deserve safety, food, respect, and a clean place to call home as much as any human being does. These are just a few reasons why I ask you to please consider joining me in supporting Sea Shepherd. They are a warrior of conservation efforts for marine life and our oceans, and we need them now more than ever.”
